Another great fly from Rod, which keep us in good stead in the coming months.
MATERIALS
HOOK: Daiichi 1170 or Mustad R50 #14 - 16
THREAD: Prewaxed black 6/0
BODY: Wallaby underfur
TAIL: Grizzle hackle fibres
Wing: Wallaby guard hair
RIB: Fine copper wire
TYING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1. Attach the thread and take to the bend of the hook, tie in the grizzle hackle fibres and then the fine copper wire rib, apply some wallaby underfur as dubbing.

STEP 2. Wind the dubbing on to form the body, then wind the rib on as well. Having done that take a bunch of guard hairs and tie them is as a wing as shown.

STEP 3. Take one hackle feather dyed coachman brown and tie it in.

STEP 4. Wind the hackle on using about 3 to 4 turns, tie it off, form a head and whip finish, then clip it flat underneath.
